This event isn't so much travel as it is a day trip. Each year in
December and early January, the Onondaga Lake Parkway in the Syracuse,
New York area is transformed into a display of holiday lights. We
have talked about driving to Syracuse to see this for some time, but
didn't take the time to do it until now.
The two mile or so drive is divided into several themes.
Following the introduction at the entrance, there is "Under
The Sea", "Santa's Workshop", "Holiday
Traditions", "Wonderful World of Sports", "Wizard of
Oz", "Fantasy Forest" and "Victorian Village".
I apologize for the quality of some of the pictures. I should
have set the camera on the action mode. Although we stopped the
car to take most of them, several still came out somewhat blurry because
of their animation.
Although not as distinct as they could be, at least they show how bright
and colorful the displays are.
